WIP: SPATIAL INTERLOCKING/ DISTORTION
The spaces start off large, readable and open, public spaces. But as you move within the bath-house, the spaces become become more discoverable, solitary, distorted and interlocked, an escape from the real world.
The model works at any rotation, this way up, upside down, on its side...you get the idea..Walls become ceilings, doors become windows which become skylights. One has no point of reference to which way up they are. At one end the spaces are larger, more readable and less interlocked. The spaces and their relationship become increasingly complex, discoverable and distorted to the other end (the centre of the plan).
note: side view and plan view very similar. This is because the building operates at both rotations. I.e. plans become sections and sections plans.
I aggregated some of these modules, to create interlocking spaces.
I started by modelling individual modules which work at different rotations..
hoorah. love it. is also crazy beautifully rendered.
As for the space - was a bit hesitant initially about your use of glass, but I see that within this rotate-able world it may actually be an interesting device - would also suggest you work with levels of transparency/translucency to flip the focus and experience more over to distortion and less into disorientation.
As it's a bath and it is (in theory) rotate-able, would think about the ways in which water and steam could move through the spaces - also how you could potentially register the effects of condensation (ultimately rain) in extremely hot+steamy spaces. Which way does it fall?
Could make for an incredibly beautiful + mysterious story.
