i would stay away from illustrator for this particular drawing. If you're doing it in acad (doesn't look like it) don't poche until the profile you cut is more precise. At the moment, the drawing elements that come across are the gray tone and black line - but neither really informs. use lines + lineweights until they become so dense they APPEAR to be poche - similar to your borromini drawings.
