this weekend has been an intense working time. week well spend and happy mother's day!

PICTURE 1_WIP_the structure are made by 3 diff structure. 1)the red_public space_connecting the envelope which act as a cage box for its interior. 2) light blue_semi public_connects between the the red and the cage, 3) white_private_are light well that channel light into atrium. i.e. seen above with the light blue lines surrounds the office atrium, a light well is connected to it.
the angle of the lines various as with the interaction with the atrium. the more acute the atrium, users can expereince more viewing angle within the space. the acute atrium generate and encourage interaction. on the contrary the more obtuse atrium created a less public atrium. i.e. the angle of bottom office atrium vs the angle of the top office atrium
thus the red line is seen connecting the public atrium, the blue connects between the red("public"? structure), and white between the private atrium.

PICTURE 2_diff atria in my proposal_at this stage i figure out i have work out the configuration of the residential spaces. by generating a congruous expression of atria, the space flows with the structure provided. last friday charles recommended a look at the Le Corbusier "cité radieuse".

PICTURE 3_Unite d'Habitation_while looking at the sections i was intrigued by the used of spaces with the corridor, service core, and apartments. On one side of the corridor you may enter an apartment's lower level, taking up one side of the building, and climb the stairs within the apartment to a double-aspect floor of bedrooms above; on the other side of the corridor you may enter the neighboring apartment's upper level, and descend to the double-aspect floor below.

SCREENSHOT_4_the space of the residential has to make way for the residential atria with the light well, so that light is shared within the residential and into the public atrium in the centre shown on PICTURE 1.

from the section drawing turning into 3d before working on the structure. the 3d model seems to have taken more time then expected, so having decided to work on a specific part of the building, which clearly shows the transition of programmatic, and its atria.

having reference with shukhov tower, the idea is to generate a structure for the building that encapsulate the atrium. i had a conversation with wolfgang today for the TS 4th yr. the idea starts to get interesting when the structure get down to a flat angle to become the stair around the atrium. the conversation led to whether at flat angle for each bar the net structure will still work or if it should be stacked shell structure in a net organisation. currently working on the system for the structure.
