hey,

could you explain what the veins are? Are they delineating where the building gets thicker to hold iteslf up? Or are they ribbed beams...

The veins are actually few things or would become few things :) They support the petals up in the moments where they comes down and connect to other petals; they will create new spaces by disattacing from the petals and some times become part of the floor and indicate maybe certain uses of the space; they will be ornamental sometimes...
The idea is in progress soo yeah if anyone wants to give other sugestions, please go ahead :)

great, so its a whole new layer of information with which to build up intensities of detail!
So sometimes the shells are structural and sometimes ornamental and likewise the veins will perform differently..?

Intensities of detail..I like how it sounds :)
The shells are not ornamental they enclose the volume of the space (I wouldnt say a wall is ornamental) but the visible veins can sometimes be ornamental (kind of a pattern on a wall) but they are the main elements to support the cantilever of the petals allowing for points of support when leaning between them.

OK, I understand. Nothing is "applied" for solely visual purposes but 'modified' from the solely self-supported as a something both visually enhancing and structurally performative. I'll probably see you later in school today... maybe we can grab a coffee at the bar. Ciao!
