Manifesto

The Church of the XXI Century is in a multicultural society. This society ruled by the laws of consumption has substituted the use of public space with virtual platforms such as interactive chat rooms. The Church of the XXI Century should be a physical public space for everyone. It is place to pray for believers. It is a place to reflect for non-believers. It is a place to interact within the city.

The Church of the XXI century has non hierarchical entrances because is a dynamic structure that adapts to its vibrant and varied environment.  Its form, scale and materiality create paths of light and shadow to overload the senses.

The Church of the XXI Century has an outstanding aura. The man of the XXI Century can explore the dynamic aura by discovering spaces (open, enclose, transitions) that change as light creates them.

Formal Manifesto

The history of the churches has used the cutting edge technology and the most innovative ideas of their time. The XXI Century Technology provides an opportunity to invent new forms with materials that are environmentally friendly. The curve and the oblique permit to change the forces in the planes in a continuous and smooth way wrapping space from floor, wall and ceiling in an in gravity manner. The flexibility of the tectonic movement allows for mix activities but especially it communicates a sequentional continuous space.

The height; concave and convex form; density and articulation of the material; and proximity of walls are the parameters that will create a palette of events to generate the variety of spaces and transitions in the specific site.
