I definitely think the gloomy one is working better, I think its because the 'atmosphere' has joined with the architecture to make an image that is powerfuly evocative of the space. Its harder in daylight, but pick something that will enhance the space that is something you want to come out of the architecture. Is there supposed to be REALY strong contrast between where there is light coming through the glass and where it is dark? If so then do shafts of lights and make everything else realy dark... like all those tourist photos of StPeter's. Know what I mean?
Hope that was helpful! It looks good anyway though... and i believe its not a scared space, but a sacred space, no? :0) XXXXXXXXXXXXX

regarding adam's comments about the light i agree - the daylit one is too bright and doesn't communicate the grandeur of the space. also, the trees in the background are over-scaled so they make the building seem small, and the people inside disproportionally TINY. But this image could work well if you take a similar view from the 3d model and render it instead so the floor can have a bit of texture - feel it's a bit too flat in this image.

thanks Natasha for your help, yes the image is too bright, i like it less too, but at least i can see what does not work for the project. in terms of the image, the trees you are very right are too big, i'll change that, the poeple are actually about the right size but in comparaison to the trees they do look TINY. ok i'll fix it for the white book, right?
