Ive set up several layers of the construction of the Recipient-cum-Contrada. The alternation of Void, Grid and Ground has given me the equivalent of a city block versus street, figure versus ground, areas into which programme will occur. I now have to figure out first the relationship of the grid to the left-overs of the old city fabric above, second the relationship between the voids that are inhabited and the retained areas of ground (solid), third the organisation and form that the programme will take within the voids/grid/ground spaces.

ok - and with those most recent comments, I would focus purely on the grid and not that which surrounds it. In a way my comment to you is similar to the ones monia and I left for Amandine's recent post. Focus on the development and articulation of the grid ITSELF and less on constructing a super-space shaped loosely by a grid, but not in anyway informed by it. Likewise the grid shows no real change as it encounters any site or programmatic shifts across its frames. does it become absurdly and (un)structurally thin? grid is too regular and appears as though you are being overwhelmed by it as the things that supposedly control it are not clear. Let your absurd formalist free and manipulate the grid to the point of its ultimate obliteration.
