Recipient Stage1

The Recipient, in this case a chasm, has been claimed by the residents of the area, and is being systematically extended (in this case the chasm is being celebrated, occupied, extended, used) to create a new urban organisation that will become the uniqueness of the Contrada.

Each time the residents dig until the ground becomes unstable, at which point they cast a concrete grid to stabilise the area, if necessary connecting it to the last grid-layer with supporting beams and columns. As the diggers move on, these in-between spaces are then occupied by the Contrada residents as their liberatory cage
