narrowing down the concepts to main ideas: the three Es (notice that the letter E is the mirrored image of number 3  (E3), and number 3 is very good)

The -a[c]tions or Vias to Formaliza[c]tion of Aliena[c]tion:

  • Emptifica[c]tion

"Living doesn't only mean being on Earth but also being under the Sky."
Martin Heidegger

This process takes place in the CORE, or interior space. Consist on the celebration of space there where it has been extenuated. The escape from the cityscope consists on a skyscape. The inflated volume is opened and suctioned by the sky portions among the skyscrapers' tops. This affects the translucency and color of the inside whereas on the outside it remains homogeneous. Regarding texture, that of the interior should be gloss and coloured getting to that of dark velvet towards the sky. The outer side of the core won't be treated at all, it will show the qualities of the material, the fiber order.

  • Encapsula[c]tion

"The ultimate goal of architecture is to create an earthly paradise."
Alvar Aalto

This process takes place in the FORT that surrounds and protects the core. Is about protection through massing, a mass of atmospheres. The protection of emptiness consist on thick air and solid light. Kept in rings of frosted resin, different atmospheres emanate from the continuous crude coloured walls in which mosses find a comfortable settlement. Its hierarchy is not dictated by its size, instead it depends on their level of surface articulation. And so do their uses or light. Variety relies on atmospheres provided by temperatures and degrees of humidity that we explore as who pleasantly explores a paradisaical forest.

  • Emboliza[c]tion

"Les advantages de la beauté sont immenses; ils agissent même sur ceux qui ne le perçoivent pas."

Jean Cocteau

This process takes place on the BUFFER ZONE that surrounds the building. This acts as border and interface in between the vacuity and the city. It is a demarcation which sometimes has a clear border that other times is blurred. Through the voluptuous beauty of the horizontal surface certain pathing is forced, clogging some areas and unblocking others. Its texture is rough, that in which one doesn't want to sit but does. Its temperature is warm, provided by its dark color, that of asphalt, which you always drive through but never feel.

Ichnography

...Men came back and found the traces of formlessness. After devastation, Form could Be. She took body where formlessness used to exist and became a sanctuary in her name. But formlessness's footprint was still there, so do its reflection over the Body of Form. Still is unknown if Form can become absolute in the world as the perceive it, but they have the little world where Form Is, and there She is pure.

form-over-formlessness.jpg

Program and purpose: The creation of little worlds of emptiness. Sanctuaries of Form within the city. Singularity or plurality of them yet to be decided. They have a stretch relation with the city, which I still can't define, represented by the reflection of the city on the dome. They are a neccesity of the city in the sense of abstraction, the need of enclosed emptiness. Reference in Nolli plan of Rome.

The embrionary idea is to represent this as a plate 45x45 where the traces of formlesness are printed on paper and the little world is the dome (a smaller plastic dome, about 15cm dia) where formlessness is reflected (the little skyline in the border of the sphere).

I think I am giving meaning to the rebrief in 2 ways:

1. the content of the plates telling the ideas about Form.

2. the format or container of the plates showing the idea of little worlds.

What I want to do is swich roles, now the container (the dome) becomes the content.

The buildings I am looking at bring the ideas of ennclosed little worlds of emptiness where only form is important, so with this new plate I am basically translating the idea of "little worlds" carried through the format of the plates to the concept of the project (the making fo little worlds) and the content of the plates will be the process of the project, the "giver" of Form. Yes, confusing...

Thanks Tijn and Patrick for the good ideas!

now the smoke has shadow and the ground is more generic. bottom image is what you'll see with the glasses on. top one is the anaglyph. I have sent 2 3d prints already and the next one is about to go! but the mould for the domes wont be done till the afternoon, so maybe there wont be any domes tomorrow..

I´m thinking of getting rid of the floor plane in this image and making the cenotaph much bigger it kind of works? at the moment the section is wrong, but I am building the new model now, just try to imagine... (I attach the previous image to compare, the sectioned buildings are comming)
