Forgiveness to Brightness

|

The word iconic always causes me to draw out something where there is an attraction, attention or very distinctive. No matter what or how we want to create something in which it can be stand out or remembered, we need to have a sense of motivation in order to success.  What we need is ‘an element’ that we can bring out a desire outcome so that someone will be able to categories into.  We need to have at least one of these elements in order to call something iconic and they are:  Beautiful, Elegant, Romantic, Symbolic, Eye catching,

Therefore, to define a church, let’s go to my own experience visiting of a church

 Consequence visiting in a church

 Deep Breath….. Enter

Hope?   Comfort?  Trust ? Desire? Sitting a very dim place where a gathering is going on, what is this place? Why people are chatting….a priest has gone up to a pulpit and begins to talk.

Silent…

…. ‘Let’s starts to pray’ he said.  Is he preaching us? .... Someone starting to disturb my mind...should I trust him?

Silent….

Why am I looking up to a clerestory?  Am I confessing?  Confused?

…eye closed…

I wish my health will get better

I wish I can become prettier

I wish my hamster’s broken leg will heal soon

I wish that my parents will forgive me

I wish everyone can help me

I wish…I wish

All in a sudden, I felt there is a hope, it is so bright.

Deep Breath…..Exit

Feeling better

There is a stage of time - where I felt bad

There is a stage of time - where I want to express my puzzle feelings

There is a stage of time- where no one can hear me

There is a stage of time - where someone is listening

There is a stage of time – where I feel there is a brightness of a new goal

The experience gives me a memorable journey of space, every step of walking from outside the church ‘s exterior through to every interior space create masses of feelings.   Before I enter the church, there is a time where I felt dull, darkness and hopeless, but once I sit down and listen, somehow, there is a moment a ‘bright’  ‘and ‘cheerful’ feeling.

My ideal iconic church is to express my feelings of my journey, where by using a form descends into a subterranean darkness passage and emerge into an expansive light world of church interior.  This passage can perform as the way I can feel dark, puzzle and miserable, but when the moment of entering the nave of the church, the sense of hope and brightness will appear in a leading ramp to the bright side at the ramp.  Then when departing of the church through the  exit of colour positive and negative flooring , wall pattern  or shadow.   The emotional feelings can be relief, happy and cheerful again.
