random day_xyz and some other work on its way

| | Comments (0)
...after some online software tutorials with a friend from vienna (thanx julia) I got a nice pattern for my cube ;)
random day xyz.... some more productive work, rethinking ts interm, a new structural strategy, the program, the miesian illusions and material possibilities plus shedule for the next 4 weeks etc etc...on its way ...

no cladding

the vertical and horizontal lines were derived from the original barca facades I was looking at see first two pics, the horizontal ones are still a bit tricky- will have a software question tomorrow about them....I spend the whole day thinking about the structure question, the section below demonstrates the cladding option... 2 different systems, a main structure and then the deformed grid as a kind of cladding - emphazising the corner condition and acting as a possible tension element for the main structure as well.... but I came to the conclusion is too rigid and it will be difficult to integrated a deformed roof grid pattern as well ....and the thickness of the whole thing becomes too much too ... so ... there is no choice but to make the deformed grid- facade do all the jobs at the same time .... that means first and most urgently to make all the ribbons much deeper - but I think is possible somehow... the envelope is taking shape - hopefully soon...;(

work in progress

I should not do these images right now, I just wanted to have a kind of atmosphere image some kind of idea how it could possibly look like... argh... I'm working on the fassade system right now which mainly means on the columns that are supposed to somehow interlock to create the shell -frame structure I'm interested in ... was looking into tension compression parts as well - but has been slow... work in progress...

I also set up a table of contents and some introduction pages- will bring them tomorrow...
I'm about to finish this off and then draw a conclusion from the research- for my own wide span strategy- from what I learned here is probably going to be a two hinged frame (or better four hinged shell)  with a two-way spanning double grid of intersecting trusses which is probably going to be a kind of net structure. The material question YES
high performance ceramics - I have to find out more- but it could be interesting to use 2 different materials for upper and lower chord system - performance according to tension and compression.... thats what I learned from Siza case study .... I'll bring everything printed on A3 tomorrow... it would be great to have a afternoon tutorial since I'm meeting John at 16.30h ...thanx...
