Work in progress

structurale elementos.jpgthis is a break down of the elements of the structural frame. The rolled steel sections that make up the frame (along with the cladding) need to be broken down further as their span is currently too long.

Am making model also.

The structural system comprises:

Primary vertical frame- carries load to ground. These take on the role that the plane fold lines initially did. These vertical members are made up of plates that are welded as a V. Currently they are lined with ribs to secure the angle.

Secondary rolled square section frame - defines the plane.Cladding is hung from this. This needs to be broken down as Im sure itll require further trusses considering that the height is 22m.

Floor plates- are supposed to be working as a joist. Need to better define this.

section diagrams was the previous entry in this blog.

Making the fragment self supporting by moving control points, tying back to vertical walls or propping weak planes with additional planes (folding) is the next entry in this blog.
