Hi E - thanks for posting - as for the sections, i would suggest you develop them very similar in technique to your plan - ie, develop it first as an ORGANIZATIONAL PATTERN, and then develop its spatiality.
work on pattern, linkages, organizational strategy, scale, etc but don't even try to make it a building just yet, ignore the ground plane, (don't draw or think about ground) and experiment first.
