The ends...

Am designing the two ends of the bridge as i think its important as it is at these two points that the materiality of the bridge physically meets the city (where the juxtaposition of materials occur). Am trying to model these and have models made (maybe if there is enough time) with different colours for the different materials... for this connection between the bridge and the building, the bridge punches a hole into the existing facade, where the language of these bits are angular to respond to the rectilinear shapes of the facade. Inside, the old and new materiality wrap around each other, where the existing material enters into the bridge and the metal of the window frames (green bits) start wrapping itself around the existing buildings.... where it can be seen further away...
