This is a drawing of  an circuit board - But it is the kind of aesthetic I would like to acheive with my plan - - -

Model Wip

I have more or less worked out all the transitions from Public 1-2 to Private 1 and from Public 3-4 to private 2. Si now I know the main slab height transitions onto which I can project the plans. I modeled a tiny area of teh plan to bet feed back. I am not sure if it is best to model the slabs as thin slab and add or to model everything solid and boolean out. I think with the boolean it will be hard to understand hod the building is working.
Anyway, I have modelled up to the the level of each respective floor from the central distribution area. Now it is the question of if I project the plans onto the floor levels and extrude the circulation - connecting it the cores or if I work on refining a slab mass model?? I have to do both eventually.

This is level 3  public - it is a partially dead end slab - I located the rehab pools on the dead end.  I am still working on it. Slab 4 comes down and intersect 3 to merge into level 2 of the private clinic. You should acctually see level 2 private - with the wards - but I am still drawing level 4 with Public wards and the swimming level.
I still have a lot to figure out. The light well deformations will become clearer once it draw the last level and start connecting.

This is work in progress first floor plan.
it is coming  together but I still have a lot to draw - I  would rather keep going then separate out the layers now. I will separate them for tomorrow. so you can see the pattern of each element.
Sorry about the image quality I will try to post a better one later.

These are quick quick sketches - just looking at the gardens can
1. meet the more orthogonal grid.
2. Allow for the paths and cores to pass through them. ( Don't worry the core wont look like that  -it is a place holder)

Hi - Here is work in progress on the public park (central Park).
I have not related it to the grid at all.
I am taking the smaller fields down into the building. The screen shot shows how I plan to model them as creases/ folds of slits ?? in the slab. I will figure out which ones descend to the ground floor and then place them on the ground floor plan.

I still need to draw the transition around the pool  and deal with the edge condition.

I tried a bunch of other methods - stepping it down to make them more accessible and just drawing curved paths but it was not successful.

I have decided that the gardens will only be accessible from the level that they descend to. This makes the slits private and not accessible by the public using the upper level of the park - which I think is good.

I am doing the secondary arteries now. I think that that is where the circulation will differentiate. I have left all the cores and light wells in place on this one - work in progress. This shows the main triage areas. I am going to draw the circulation like arteries wider at the the main points and then becoming smaller and smaller the further away you get from a main. I am trying to avoid the grid and light well but rather hook back onto cores when needed rather that letting them define the route.

Sorry the the text is a bit messy but it just to give a rough idea of what each element is.

Garden Slabs

I am trying to figure out the garden slabs. At the moment they are the diagonal connections accross the site and they also fiunction as the fabric that connects all the different parts of the site their form is derived from the from the connection between the exterior points of the site which are based on the 50x50 grid. I have started to model the private part or the building because it is smaller and more manageable to test if this method is working.

In this screen all the garden is at the same level that will change.

The red areas are single height slab.  The pink is double hight slab. The the radial lines are the main circulation towards the centre of the site.

I would propose that I model it with the main program as large chunks which I can then pull out and model individually with more detail. what do you think? Other wise it becomes to complex and I get stuck??
Sorry these didnt attach to the last post. This is wip wip wip!! but the top image is the ER with redistribution. The bottom is the all the paths arriving at the pool. I will keep going and try to post again later with more detail.

I tried several different grid variations but 50m by 50 m seems the most suitable for the size of the site. I am now staring to boolean out forms for the program. I showed some close ups bellow on how I plan to proceed with the insertion of program.

I am not sure if it is a matter of continuing to push the boolean method- Keep adding layers and information or is I should model the slabs differently. If you have any feed back it would be helpful so I can know where to focus.

I tried to boolean out the voids of  program from the solid slab but it is not really working. This drawing is of the front tip of the site. I dont think it works. The slab is functions better when it is 'pregenant' with program. What do you think. I will try and model it differently for tomorrow.

I am still trying to figure it out. I am trying not get stuck on the vastness.

Program Distribution

I tried to start modeling but I could not figure it out without a general layout for each floor. This is a diagrammatic program distribution but I have taken into consideration how the different programs are located relative to each  other. Which ones sit above each other ect. The programs that repeat over several floors indaatcate that they have a multiple flloor hieght. For example the large pool.

White Book Stuff

I reworked the history of the site chapter in white book because I needed to figure out the size of the pool for the slab 090228-WB_Chapter-3-_History-of-the-site-37.jpgsizes.
I have calculated it at about 222m in diameter. I also have the first image of the pool on site.
The chapter is to long to blog the whole thing but I will bring it on Tuesday.
