I am trying to find a flexible format that will allow me to expand the timeline through out the year as the project grows... its not very 'pretty' yet but it think that the system works.

Yes! I think it is almost working. A suggestion: when you have overlapping forms related to different time, maybe you can have different colours. For instance at one specific time let's say there is a new construction and a demolition, maybe we can have three colours: new construction/ruins that stay/demolition. So the timeline works more as overlapping of events and we understand how at any moment past/present.... is merged or it becomes a bit a timeline of distinct moments. Really nice, super intriguing...
